When did you start your account?
I started writing in June. The account had already been opened by another girl.
Why were you inspired to start an account?
I started writing because I think that catcalling is a serious problem in my city, which makes girls especially not feel safe. moreover, these things are often not considered harassment.
Why do you think “chalking back” is a good method to raise awareness?
I think it's a great way to make girls feel more united and more supported.
Why do you think ending street harassment is important?
I think it is important that catcalling ceases because all people have the right to feel safe in their own city and at ease with themselves.
What’s your favorite thing about your city?
I love Milan because it is a beautiful city. I also think that together we will be able to make everyone understand our message of awareness
How can your city better address street harassment?
Avoiding ignoring all the harassment that is done daily. supporting and publicizing our awareness work with writing on the streets
What do you hope is the outcome of your account?
I hope that the people who are catcalled stop feeling lonely. And those who do catcalling start thinking about how bad it is for people
What’s the most difficult street harassment situation you’ve experienced? I was 16 and I was going to a birthday party. I was super elegant that night and felt beautiful. on the way from home to the party, they had made me even very vulgar praise. I remember that I replied telling them that doing so they only showed their no-intelligence etc ... but however all evening I felt like a piece of meat. What does being a part of this campaign mean to you? For me it is very important because I want people to know that they are not alone. that we fight daily against catcalling! I believe in it with all of myself!
